credit to the senegalese author Mariama Ba, whose book, So Long A Letter, is the namesake of this web journal. highly recommended reading on a feminist perspective of a woman's place in senegalese society, the question of polygamy, and the double standard that exists in gender relations. in the form of a letter, it tells the story of two senegalese women who make different choices when it comes to their husbands taking a second wife. check it out!
